Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre. Volunteers are integral to our ongoing work to provide a safe and welcoming space for all women in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.
Volunteer opportunities are available for women (cis, trans, 2S) over the age of 18.
Possible roles
Depending on their aspirations and skills, volunteers can be assigned to all kinds of roles and events:
- Facilitate recurring workshops and activities for the women we serve: game nights, karaoke nights, movie nights, etc.
- Teach English classes or support with English-Mandarin translations
- Hair style and make-up for beauty nights
- Contribution to yearly events: Fall Dinner, Lunar New Year, Indigenous People’s Day, Truth & Reconciliation Day,, etc.
